Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2025
This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use Pocket Irrigator (the mobile app and this website). We keep this plain and practical.
What we collect
- Account info: email, name (if provided), company and basic usage needed to run your account.
- App content you add: customers, properties, notes, photos, maps, and inspection/work data you choose to store.
- Voice and transcripts (when you use voice features): audio is processed to create a transcript. We don’t use your audio to build voiceprints or identify you.
- Location and mapping data: GPS location (if you enable it), and map features you draw (zones, lines, points). Mapping uses Mapbox services.
- Website analytics: privacy‑friendly, cookie‑free metrics (page views and events) to understand site performance. No targeted ads.
- Support: emails you send to us and related context to help resolve issues.
How we use data
- Provide and improve the app and website.
- Process voice to text so you can work hands‑free.
- Render maps, store your projects, and generate reports.
- Secure accounts, prevent abuse, and support you when you ask for help.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms.
Who we share data with
We don’t sell your data. We use trusted service providers to run Pocket Irrigator. Typical providers include: Supabase (hosting/auth), Mapbox (maps/tiles), AI providers (for transcription and chat), email providers, and payment processors if/when you subscribe. Providers may process data on our behalf under their terms and security practices.
Voice recordings and biometrics
When you use voice features, audio is sent to our speech‑to‑text service to create a transcript. We do not create biometric identifiers or voiceprints. Do not record others without consent. Some U.S. states (like California) require all‑party consent to record “confidential communications.” You are responsible for complying with recording laws where you operate.
Location and mapping
If you enable location, we use it to help place features accurately. Mapping uses Mapbox and may cache tiles on your device for performance or limited offline use. Mapbox terms do not allow redistribution of offline tiles. Your map features (zones, lines, points) are your content.
Data retention
- Account and app data: kept while you use the service and as needed for legal or audit.
- Voice audio: typically processed and discarded after transcription. Transcripts may be stored with your project data.
- Backups and logs: kept for a limited time for reliability and security.
Your choices
- You can access, export, correct, or delete your data. Contact us to request help.
- You can disable location in your device settings.
- You can ask us to delete your account. See Data Deletion.
State privacy rights (U.S.)
Some U.S. state laws (like California’s CCPA/CPRA and Colorado’s CPA) give residents rights to access, delete, correct, and opt‑out of certain data uses. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. If that ever changes, we will add a “Do Not Sell or Share” link and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect data. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach, we will notify affected users as required by law.
Children
Pocket Irrigator is for professional use and not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If changes are material, we will post a clear notice in‑app or on the website, or email you when appropriate.
